10CC
"The Wall Street Shuffle" b/w "Gismo My Way" (7" 45, 1974)
UK Records (Released in the US) 45-49023
RARE ALTERED LYRIC VERSION
Pics are the actual item you're buying (please excuse my dusty scanner).
One of 10cc's earlier singles. Unique, because it features a different lyric from the album, since the label (presumably) didn't want the record to get banned, so the band sang different lyrics from what we're all accustomed to hearing on the album - Instead of...
"Oh Howard Hughes
Did your money make you better?
Are you waiting for the hour
When you can screw me?"
The band sang alternate lyrics...
"Are you waiting for the hour
When you can SUE me?"
Most people never even knew about it (and still don't) until many years after 10cc got big, when collectors noticed this 45's lyrical variation (and NOT ALL VERSIONS FEATURE THE RADIO FRIENDLY ALTERNATE VERSION). Sorry about the jpegs, there's something about the label's mixture of silver letters and the blue background that makes it near impossible to scan.
